1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe

1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe

When it comes to the “Godfather of bombas” nothing can stand out, as much as a “1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe”. This bomba came straight from the factory with front coil suspension making it one of the most desirable and smoothest rides from its tiempos (times).

This 1939 Chevy belongs to Danny Morelos the founder of the East l.A. Viejitos Chapter. The car was purchased in Downey, Califas from Mando. When Danny brought it home it was just the shell no windows no running gear, pretty much a project. Knowing it would need full restoration. He went to work on it wright away. He took it to “El Capi” from Imperial Body Shop in the city of Lynwood,Ca to get the body worked on and paint . When it came down to having the 39 painted the body was sprayed with a real nice blueish coat of paint. But while that was happening a 235 motor was being built as well as a five speed transmission out of a S-10 chevy pickup, that is used now to power that old school 39. Shortly from the motor install the car was fully rewired to its original specs from Danny aka Maniaco. Then Danny and his son JoJo went on to doing the upholstery, were some O.G. mohair material was used to give it that original classic look. But the fun didn’t stop here it then was taken to El Monte, Ca to get some straight pipes put on by Pepes muffler Shop. Then Everything that needed to be re-chromed was chromed by David Morelas in Montebello Ca. As the windows were getting installed some custom made windows were specially made with two different tints, a green and 5 inches of blue tint by Gustavo Duran that’s also out of Montebello. After the building of this ride was complete Danny went on a hunt to find some of the “rare accessories” that were made for these bad boys.  A GM fan, umbrella holder, window thermometers, reverse light, Amber trip lights Fog lamps, Over Flow tank. He decided not to put a visor or skirts just to keep it his own style adding the tiny white walls and crossbars. Danny want to thank his familia and some of his homies for helping him with the build of a true fine bomba, to Gustavo Duran, Maniaco, primo David and my son JoJo for all there help and support.
